Neuromodulators

Neuromodulators, such as Botox®  and Dysport®, are all botulinum toxins that are used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles on the forehead, between the brows, around the eyes, and along the bridge of the nose.  Botulinum toxins function by blocking the nerve signals that trigger the muscle contraction. Only a tiny amount of the botulinum toxin needs to be injected into the muscle for effect, which causes it to relax, smoothing the skin.

  • Receiving Botox® or Dysport® is a quick procedure requiring only a few minutes. No anesthesia is required as discomfort is minimal. We use a fine needle to inject Botox® into specific muscles. Full effect generally takes place at two-three weeks.

  • Bruising can be minimized by stopping the following two weeks prior:

    • Aspirin

    • Anti-inflammatory medication

    • Vitamin E

    • Fish oil

Do not take any antibiotics for at least 10 days prior.

Do not have treatment if you are Pregnant or Nursing.

Please consult with your medical provider before stopping prescription aspirin or blood thinners.

If you have any concerns regarding pre-existing conditions that may preclude you from receiving treatment, consult with your medical provider to ensure you are a candidate for Botox®/Dysport®.

Please call (480) 981-2888 if you have any additional questions.

  • The effects of Botox® and Dysport® usually last three to four months, although in some individuals, the effects may last longer or shorter than usual. Results can vary as well as the number of units needed to obtain the desired results.

We recommend first-time clients schedule a two-week follow-up appointment to address any questions or concerns. At times, the addition of a few units may be necessary to achieve your desired look.

Lines and wrinkles begin to re-appear as muscle action gradually returns. With repeated treatment, lines and wrinkles appear less severe because the muscles are being trained to relax.

We encourage receiving neuromodulators on a regular schedule before all effects of the previous treatments wear off. This helps to continue training the muscles and lessen lines and wrinkles. Deep resting creases in the skin cannot be eliminated completely, but can be softened.

  • The following side effects can occur with Botox® and Dysport®:

    • Bruising

    • Discomfort at the site of injection

    • Tiredness

    • Headaches

    • Eyelid/eyebrow drooping

If headaches occur, they are transient and will resolve within 2-3 days.

Eyelid/Eyebrow drooping occurs in a small percentage of clients. Both are temporary and usually resolve within weeks.

Please call (480) 981-2888 if you have any concerns.

Microneedling

Microneedling is an innovation in aesthetic medicine for the treatment of the appearance of fine lines and the improvement of the skin’s texture, tone, and color.  Microneedling works by applying sterile micro needles deep into the dermis stimulating the body to produce new collagen and elastin to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles, acne scars and enhance skin elasticity over time.

A series of 3 or more spaced about 1 month apart is recommended for the desired result.

RF Microneedling

VirtueRF® Microneedling is the latest in skin technology. This rejuvenating treatment uses a combination of radio frequency (RF) heat energy and microneedling to stimulate collagen and elastin production.

Sterile, gold-coated micro needles create tiny channels deep within the dermis to stimulate the natural production of collagen and deliver radiofrequency heat energy at the desired depths to promote remodeling of collagen and elastin that tightens and lifts the skin. Collagen will then continue to build and repair over the next several months.
